Croatia Gains a New Michelin Star as the 2026 Guide Is Unveiled

The Michelin Guide Croatia 2026 has officially been unveiled, confirming Croatia’s continued rise as one of Europe’s most exciting food destinations.

The biggest news this year is that Harry’s Piccolo in Poreč has been awarded its first Michelin star, joining Croatia’s growing list of starred restaurants.

At the top of Croatian gastronomy, Agli Amici in Rovinj has successfully retained its prestigious two Michelin stars for the third consecutive year. Michelin inspectors praised the restaurant for maintaining an exceptional level of quality under chef Emanuele Scarello and resident chef Simone de Lucca, while also highlighting its spectacular seaside setting.

With the new addition, Croatia now has 13 one-star Michelin restaurants, alongside Agli Amici, the country’s only two-star restaurant.

Three new Bib Gourmand restaurants

The 2026 guide also introduces three new restaurants to the Bib Gourmand category, which recognises venues offering excellent food at good value.

The new Bib Gourmand restaurants are Bistro Loora in Đakovo, Lulu Fusion Bistro in Osijek and Nuré in Zagreb.

Sixteen restaurants join the Michelin Guide Croatia selection

Beyond the stars and Bib Gourmands, Michelin inspectors added 16 new restaurants to the main Michelin Guide selection.

The newly recommended restaurants are:

  • Cantilly Garden – Samobor
  • Dida – Crikvenica
  • Foša – Zadar
  • Jaz by Ana Roš Poreč – Poreč
  • Ješka Fine Bistro – Makarska
  • Kiyomi – Zagreb
  • Konoba Campanelo – Mirlović Zagora
  • LABRAX – Zadar
  • Maguro – Zadar
  • Nico’s Bar & Bistro – Zagreb
  • Plavi Podrum – Volosko (Opatija)
  • SOL – Zagreb
  • Stancija Kovačići – Opatija
  • The Lubenice Restaurant – Cres
  • The Restaurant – Hotel Supetar – Cavtat

Michelin Special Awards

Michelin also presented four Special Awards recognising outstanding individual talent in Croatia’s hospitality industry.

Marin Pleše of Vila Rova in Malinska received the Young Chef Award, while Branimir Vukšić from Pelegrini in Šibenik was named Sommelier of the Year.

Nuré in Zagreb received the Opening of the Year Award and Monte in Rovinj was honoured with the Service Award for excellence in hospitality.

According to the Michelin Guide Croatia 2026, the country now boasts one two-star restaurant, 13 one-star restaurants, 14 Bib Gourmand establishments and 112 recommended restaurants.
