Dubrovnik Good Food Festival Returns With Two Weeks of Food, Workshops and Local Traditions

The Dubrovnik Good Food Festival returns from 5 to 18 October 2026, filling the city’s autumn calendar with street food, guest chef dinners, cooking workshops and outings into the surrounding countryside. Some events are made for an evening out, while others invite visitors to spend a day learning about the food and traditions of the Dubrovnik region.

FOODravanje opens the festival at Lazareti, where street food stalls will be accompanied by DJs and live music from 5 to 11 October. Željko Bebek performs on the opening night, TBF takes the stage on Friday and Giuliano & Diktatori close the week on Sunday. Later in the festival, Dubrovnik Beer & Bites Fest brings craft beer, food and concerts to the Dubrovnik Beer Company from 16 to 18 October.

What stands out at the Dubrovnik Good Food Festival

Several events take visitors beyond the Old City. On 9 October, a foraging workshop in Ljubač ends with a lunch prepared by Croatian chef Ana Ugarković. The following morning, a guided walk along Napoleon’s Road leads from the Gajina viewpoint to Trsteno Arboretum. Brunch will be served in an olive grove after the walk. The outing is free, but reservations are required.

The workshops offer a closer look at regional recipes. Participants can learn to make skorup cake, a traditional cake made with almonds and a rich dairy product called skorup, or prijesnac, a speciality from Župa Dubrovačka made with cheese and eggs. Other sessions cover hrostule, crisp fried pastries, and the preparation of marinated fish.

On the final day, a workshop in Župa Dubrovačka begins with a visit to lemon gardens and continues with the preparation and tasting of simulata, a traditional local delicacy.

For those who would rather sit down to dinner, the programme includes evenings with chefs Stiven Vunić, Mario Mihelj, Matija Bogdan and Tibor Valinčić. There are also dinners featuring guest chefs from abroad, including an evening devoted to Spanish flavours. Each dinner has its own price and booking arrangements.

A long table on Stradun

One of the festival’s best-known events returns on Saturday, 17 October. For the Dubrovnik Table, hotels, restaurants, bakeries, pastry shops and winemakers will bring their food and wine to a communal table on Stradun.

Food vouchers cost €8 and wine vouchers €4, with all proceeds going to charity. Voucher sales are scheduled from 9 to 11 am, followed by the official opening at 11 am.

Participating restaurants will also serve special festival menus throughout the two weeks. Festival breakfasts, desserts, tastings and excursions add more ways to take part in the Dubrovnik Good Food Festival, even for visitors who cannot attend one of the main events.
