A weak earthquake near the island of Hvar was recorded on Wednesday morning, according to the Croatian Seismological Service.
The earthquake occurred at 9:21 a.m. on July 22, 2026, with its epicentre located offshore near Hvar.
According to the Seismological Service at the Department of Geophysics of the Faculty of Science in Zagreb, the earthquake had a magnitude of 2.3 on the Richter scale.
Its intensity at the epicentre was estimated at level III on the European Macroseismic Scale, which corresponds to a weak earthquake that may be felt by some people but is not expected to cause damage.
