Fuel prices in Croatia will increase from Tuesday, July 28, 2026, under a new government regulation that will remain in force for the next 14 days.
The maximum retail price of petrol will rise by €0.08 per litre to €1.62, while diesel will increase by €0.16 per litre to €1.75.
The price of blue diesel will rise by €0.19 per litre to €1.21. Liquefied petroleum gas, or LPG, will cost €1.28 per kilogram for large tanks and €1.86 per kilogram for cylinders, an increase of €0.05 per kilogram in both cases.
New fuel prices in Croatia from July 28
The maximum retail prices will be:
- Petrol: €1.62 per litre, an increase of €0.08
- Diesel: €1.75 per litre, an increase of €0.16
- Blue diesel: €1.21 per litre, an increase of €0.19
- LPG for large tanks: €1.28 per kilogram, an increase of €0.05
- LPG for cylinders: €1.86 per kilogram, an increase of €0.05
Excise duties and premiums reduced
Because of the projected significant increase in retail fuel prices compared with the previous 14-day period, the government reduced excise duties by €0.04 per litre for diesel and €0.01 per litre for petrol.
The permitted premiums were also reduced by €0.01 per litre for both petrol and diesel, €0.035 per litre for blue diesel and €0.02 per kilogram for LPG.
Maximum retail prices are calculated using the base price of fossil fuels during the previous 14-day period.
The permitted premium is limited to €0.1435 per litre for petrol, €0.1145 per litre for diesel and €0.0436 per litre for blue diesel. For propane-butane mixtures, the premium is limited to €0.9037 per kilogram for cylinders and €0.4416 per kilogram for large tanks.
Prices would be higher without government measures
According to the government, without the current measures and with prices determined freely using the excise duties and energy-company premiums that applied before the first regulations were introduced, retail fuel prices in Croatia prices would be:
- Petrol: €1.77 per litre
- Diesel: €1.94 per litre
- Blue diesel: €1.28 per litre
- LPG for large tanks: €1.39 per kilogram
- LPG for cylinders: €2.10 per kilogram
The regulation takes effect on July 28 and will apply for 14 days.
