Visitors and residents may hear emergency warning sirens in Croatia at 12:00 pm on Saturday, 1 August 2026, as part of the country’s regular monthly testing programme.
The Directorate of Civil Protection conducts routine tests of the public warning system on the first Saturday of every month, in accordance with the Regulation on Public Warning Procedures.
During the test, authorities will use the 60-second “all clear” signal, which is intended solely to verify that the warning system is functioning correctly.
No emergency is taking place
Hearing the sirens in Croatia does not mean there is an emergency or danger.
The monthly test is carried out across Croatia to ensure that the public warning system remains operational and ready to be used if required during natural disasters, major accidents or other emergencies.
Residents are not required to take any action during the scheduled test.
