After the devastating wildfire that swept through the Omiš area, parts of the Omiška Dinara have become unstable and potentially dangerous, local mountaineering organisations have warned.
The Split Mountain Guide Station and the Imber Mountaineering Association in Omiš are advising against hiking on Omiška Dinara until further notice.
“The terrain is unstable, and there is a risk of falling rocks and ground collapse following the firefighting operations,” PD Imber warned.
Hiking on Omiška Dinara not recommended until further notice
The warning applies to hikers, recreational visitors and tourists planning to use trails across the mountain. Mountaineering organisations are urging everyone to follow instructions issued by the relevant authorities and avoid affected areas for their own safety.
Conditions may remain unstable even after the wildfire has been extinguished, so anyone considering hiking on Omiška Dinara should wait until local organisations confirm that the trails are safe again.
